KidSnips is Chicagoland’s leading children's hair salon group. Seven years ago we began KidSnips with the idea of creating salons that would make haircuts fun for children. We have succeeded in this goal because of our talented and professional team of stylists and management who have also created a fun and supportive work environment.
KidSnips stores are busy, colorful and upbeat hair salons. Plus they are toy stores too. At each hair station kids sit in a "special" hair cutting chair shaped like a car, jeep, boat etc. Or they can sit in a regular styling chair. Each station has a TV/VCR and a Nintendo GameCube set to entertain the kids while the haircut are happening. Clients pay $15-$18 for children's haircuts, and $23+ for teens and adults.
Today we have eight salons located in: Chicago's Lincoln Park, Arlington Heights (NorthPoint Shopping Center), Downtown Deerfield, Wheaton (Town Square Shopping Center) Wilmette (Eden's Plaza), Vernon Hills (Westfield Shoppingtown Hawthorn Center mall), Oak Brook (OakBrook Center), and Naperville (Naperville Crossing).
As we grow, our staffing needs expand. At this time we are looking for licensed Hair Stylists and Assistant Managers for our salons.
HAIR STYLISTS
Our busy salons provide plenty of clients for our stylists so you don't have to provide your own. Stylists are paid an hourly salary (which varies based on experience and the speed and quality of haircuts). Plus there is a generous bonus plan that can add several more dollars per hour to your pay if you can service more than two clients per hour. For full time staff benefits include paid vacation and holidays, a company-subsidized group health insurance plan, an employee discount, and educational reimbursement for continuing education classes. Full and part-time hours are available.
ASSISTANT MANAGERS
KidSnips Assistant Managers work closely with the salon Manager to run the salon. In addition to cutting hair several day a week, Assistant Managers make appointments, check clients in and out, help display and receive the toys we sell, open and close the salon and assist with staff issues. Assistant Managers are paid a generous salary plus bonus. Benefits include: free health insurance, paid vacation/holiday/sick days, educational class reimbursement, and employee discount. Plus as we grow, opportunities exist for advancement to Manager.
